Fertilizer imports in the 1st quarter 2022 and the projection for the 1st Sem 2022.
The volume of fertilizer imports in the first quarter of 2022 exceeds by 28.2% the same volume imported in the first quarter of the previous year, due to the anticipation of the market related to tension among supplying markets.
The month of April follows the same trend and according to data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), up to April 18, Brazilian fertilizer imports have already exceeded 2 million tons in comparison with the same period in 2021.
The daily average of shipments went from 94.19 thousand tons in April 2021 to 149 thousand tons a day until the fourth week of the month.
According to internal data, we project that in the 1st half of 2022, the market should import about 16 million tons, being 1.7% above the same period of 2021.
